Welcome, have a seat!

Oh, hey!

Welcome to JC's EuroBlog v. 2.0, the multinational division of electronic surgical words and yet another production by approximatelyes!

'Exclamation Points' is what I will be bliggity bloggofesting on during my skip o' cross the pond (and by pond I mean the OCEAN).

Anyhow!

The countdown's a-rollin' and I am in near disbelief. One month and I will be in sunny England, rolling about in the soft sands and soaking myself in British husbandry. If everything goes as planned, Harry will roll up at a quarter to 7 and we'll hit the town. A few problems:

a. For some reason, "sunny England" doesn't roll off the tongue as naturally as "sunny Florida." Perhaps my conceptions of Britain's forecast are a tad off.

2. Soft sands? Who am I kidding. I don't even roll around on the shores of Sakakawea. And that's some pretty soft, legit sand.

III. And by husbandry, I mean finding myself a husband. NOT land management. That is for Ireland.

quatro: Harry doesn't know I'm coming yet...but he will. It's actually a surprise. But don't worry, the Queen knows. We've spoken.

Miscalculations aside, I am sure everything will be lovely. I am finishing up my coursework today to turn the whole kit'n'caboodle (remember those? Caboodles? I still use one) in tomorrow. Right now I am working on a "pre-trip museum plan," meaning I have to "pre-scope" out 8 museums in 8 cities that have some awesome appeal. Then I need to "pre-think" of artwork I'd like to visit, e.g. the Mona Lisa. Because goodness forbid an American tourist not see Mona (who also knows I'm coming)!

Tomorrow begins my Orientation session, six days of the Enlightenment, English novelists, and questionable ham sandwiches and potato chips provided by Sodexho. The best part about it is, 74% of the sessions are run by Rick Steves via DVD. Which means Rick Steves is pretty much here in Moorhead, giving me valid reason to get up at 9 a.m.*

(*I am not using the above asterisk for looks. Please refer to the end of the post. *~ThAnKs~*)

On a more positive note (as if anything gets better than Rick Steves DVD's) I finished reading the driest book of my LIFE (English Society in the Eighteenth Century) and now have more time to knit/noodle dance/watch Family Matters/play 52 pick-up. Praise be, I can have my life back again!!

Finally, (I just realized I don't have anything to write here) 31 days until blastoff!

Stop by again when you're in the neighborhood, if this pre-pre-trip yabber hasn't exhausted you. The best is yet to come!

Sweet nectar, and love to all.
